CRIME
We believe everyone should have access to justice especially when you find yourself in a police station or in court.
In these situations, you should be represented, advised and have your rights protected and advanced before those in authority.
Anyone who is interviewed under caution by the police or another organisation is entitled to free and independent legal advice. Thanks to the Legal Aid Agency, we can attend any such interview with you free of charge, and ensure the process is fair, and that you are advised on your rights and the best course of action.
When a matter reaches court, we can help you apply for further public funding; and can represent you at Magistrates or at the Crown Court. At court, we can advise you of the law, the evidence and consider with you whether you have a defence. We can trace witnesses and prepare court documents so that you don’t have to. Some people are anxious about speaking in court, and therefore we aim to provide quality advocacy.
If you have any impending police interview or are in the middle of a police investigation or court case, do call our office and ask to speak with our court and police duty solicitor or our police representative for assistance. We regularly work unsocial hours so please call us if it is an emergency.
